As the 2024 US election approaches, it is become increasingly clear that Donald Trump could win. Here are ten reasons why he has a strong chance of returning to the White House, from his dogged determination, love of country, compassion for people and increasing bipartisan support.
The intense divide in American politics has never been more obvious. And, as many have pointed out, this election isn’t just about a contest between Democrats and Republicans; it’s a deeper struggle between two opposing worldviews. On one side, there’s a globalist agenda advocating for open borders and centralized control, and on the other, a patriotic, populist movement that values national sovereignty, religious freedom and the preservation of American traditions.
From a Biblical standpoint, this is significant. The Bible warns us that in the last days, there will be a moving away from truth and the rise of a one-world religion and government. Revelation 13 describes a time when power is consolidated globally over every tribe, people, and nation, setting the stage for what many see as the end times. However, there is also the promise of revival in these final days, as God seeks to reach more people before Christ’s return. God may be giving us a period of grace—a “stay of execution,” if you will—allowing more time for repentance and people to come to salvation.
We know Jesus is coming back, and while we look forward to His return, let’s pray for more time—time for God’s grace to abound and for our children and grandchildren to see revival. Romans 5:20 tells us, “Where sin increased, grace increased all the more.” Our hope is that this election will be a step toward awakening hearts and drawing people closer to God.
Looking back: The 2016 Election
The election of 2016 was a turning point. It surprised the world when Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton, seemingly disrupting the plans of the globalist elite. Trump was an unlikely candidate—brash, undiplomatic and controversial both in his personal life and business dealings. Yet, he was independent; he refused to be controlled by the political establishment and rejected the influence of globalist agendas. This made him a significant threat to those seeking to consolidate power on a global scale.
During his first term, Trump accomplished a lot from a Christian perspective. One of his boldest actions was recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and moving the US Embassy there—a promise many presidents had made but failed to keep. Psalm 122:6 tells us to “pray for the peace of Jerusalem,” and Trump’s move was aligned with Biblical support for Israel. He also helped broker the Abraham Accords, fostering peace in the Middle East. Notably, there were no new wars during his administration.
Trump championed free speech and religious liberty, defended secure borders, and resisted the “green agenda” which many people of faith feel is being misused. Such moves made him a direct threat to the political system and it seemed the establishment was determined to prevent his reelection in 2020. The resulting election left many Americans feeling disillusioned and divided.
The controversies of 2020
The 2020 election was highly contentious. Allegations of election fraud led to the ‘Stop the Steal’ movement. The events of January 6, 2021, deepened the divide, with claims that FBI agents infiltrated the protest and manipulated events to discredit Trump supporters. Watching this unfold on TV was both shocking and unsettling.
Many Christians were left confused. Prophecies had suggested that Trump would serve a second term, yet these did not materialize. Proverbs 29:2 tells us, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.” The outcome of 2020 felt like a time of mourning and confusion for many believers, as they tried to reconcile events with their faith.
Since then, more information has come to light about corruption and deception within the Democratic Party. For instance, there was election interference involving the suppression of Hunter Biden’s laptop story, which was falsely labeled as Russian disinformation. This was later verified, yet the damage had been done.
Additionally, accusations of Biden’s corruption persist, including the claim that he was the ‘Big Guy’ receiving ’10 percent’ of profits from overseas business dealings, according to emails from Hunter Biden’s laptop. Despite this, there has been little accountability. Meanwhile, Trump has been subjected to relentless ‘lawfare’ and survived two assassination attempts. Through it all, he has endured, only God could have protected him through such intense opposition.
Social Media and truth
One unexpected development has been the role of alternative media. After being banned from Twitter and Facebook, Trump launched Truth Social. Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter (now X) has also been a game changer, transforming it into a platform that allows more freedom of speech. Musk, the wealthiest man in the world, bought X for $44 billion, a move that was too lucrative for Twitter’s owners to refuse. They let their greed get the better of them, something they must deeply regret today.
Platforms like X are not without flaws. It is troubling that X allows pornography and explicit content, which promotes a culture of sin. Yet, 1 Corinthians 1:27 reminds us that “God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise,” and He can use even imperfect tools to accomplish His purposes. X despite its flaws, is exposing corruption and providing a platform for voices that challenge the mainstream.
Ten Reasons why Trump could win in 2024
As we approach 3 November 2024, here are ten reasons why Trump has a significant chance of returning to the White House:
1. The power of prayer: Above all, we believe in the power of prayer. As Christians, we must intercede for our nation. 2 Chronicles 7:14 reminds us, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray… then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” This election is not just a political choice—it’s a spiritual battle, and prayer is crucial. It is our prayer that more and more people of faith will vote. That Christians will engage with politics and be the salt and light that they are called to be. In this respect it is encouraging to see so many Amish people registering to vote for the first time. This could possibly swing Pennsylvania.
2. Donald Trump’s resilence: One of Trump’s most defining traits is his dogged determination. While many lesser men would have given up under the relentless attacks, legal challenges, and media scrutiny, he has refused to back down. His love for country and his concern for the American people are evident in his actions. Whether it was his immediate response to natural disasters like hurricanes or his compassion for bereaved families, Trump’s deep care for the people of this nation has resonated with many. His resilience and commitment to the fight for America, despite the overwhelming opposition, reveal his genuine concern for the future of the country.
In addition to facing endless legal battles, Trump has even survived two assassination attempts, with one occurring in a swing state. The fact that he continues to stand strong despite threats to his life has only deepened his supporters’ admiration and respect. His resilience and commitment to the fight for America, even when his life is at risk, reveal his genuine concern for the future of the country—giving him a unique edge over his opponents.
3. The truth is emerging: Independent media, especially on X, has become instrumental in revealing corruption and exposing lies from the legacy media and the establishment. More Americans are waking up to the truth, and there is growing skepticism toward fake news narratives. The public is becoming more aware of the layers of corruption that are being exposed. From the Hunter Biden laptop revelations to the allegations that Joe Biden was benefiting from his son’s overseas dealings, the term “10 percent for the Big Guy” has become symbolic of the deep-seated corruption within the political system.
4. Demand for Justice and Accountability: Many voters are looking for accountability. The Epstein Island scandal has shaken the nation, with many high-profile individuals implicated in horrific abuses that were allegedly covered up. The fact that no one has been prosecuted and the list of names remains hidden frustrates many Americans. Trump’s call for transparency and accountability could attract voters who are tired of elites escaping consequences.
5. A strong Vice Presidential choice: Trump’s selection of JD Vance as his running mate is strategic. Vance is likable, articulate and someone who resonates with a wide audience. He is a best selling author who is well known for his life story of fulfilling the American Dream. He is also a ‘Never Trumper’ who changed his mind. This shows that people can change just like Apostle Paul on the Damascus Road. Trump could have added diversity to his campaign to his advantage however he picked someone who really does have the stature to be President in due course.
6. The switch from Joe Biden to Kamala Harris: Vice President Kamala Harris has alienated much of the public with her extreme positions on issues like abortion and LGBTQ+ rights. Biden’s visible struggles with age and health have also raised doubts about his ability to lead, and Harris has done little to inspire confidence as his successor. The Democratic ticket appears weakened.
7. The Influence of Elon Musk: Musk’s leadership at X has disrupted legacy media’s stranglehold on information. His willingness to challenge mainstream narratives has opened the door for more honest reporting and allowed the American public to see beyond the official narrative. Elon Musk is joining the team, and whether you agree with him or not, it’s worth paying attention to a man who is the richest person in the world. Musk’s success didn’t happen by accident—there’s a reason he’s achieved so much. His approach to streamlining organizations is part of what makes him unique. For example, he cut the X workforce by about 80%, making the company far more cost-effective and efficient. The idea of having someone like Musk, with his focus on efficiency and innovation just makes sense.
8. Bi-Partisan Appeal with Robert F Kennedy Jr and Tulsi Gabbard: The addition of Robert F. Kennedy Jr and Tulsi Gabbard to Trump’s broader coalition adds credibility and bipartisanship to his campaign. Kennedy, who suspended his independent campaign to support Trump, could have drawn votes away, potentially splitting the ticket. By aligning with Trump, he strengthens a populist coalition appealing to moderate Democrats and independents. Gabbard, a former Democrat, also adds balance to the campaign.
9. Kamala’s poor choice of running mate: Democratic leaders, like Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, played prominent roles in supporting or excusing the 2020 riots, which has alienated many Americans. Walz’s handling of the unrest following George Floyd’s death, marked by widespread destruction and unrest across Minnesota, left a lasting negative impression on voters who prioritize law and order. This mishandling of a crisis has led many to reconsider their support for the Democratic Party.
When Kamala Harris selected Walz as her running mate, it sparked questions. In debates, he has struggled to keep up with JD Vance, and he has been less effective in inspiring men to support a female candidate. Many believe Josh Shapiro, the Governor of Pennsylvania, would have been a much stronger choice, bringing a fresh perspective and broader appeal. However, Harris likely couldn’t choose Shapiro due to concerns that his Jewish faith would alienate certain segments of the Democratic base. Instead, the campaign settled on Walz, despite his limited appeal and this choice could weaken the Democratic ticket as it contends with a unified and formidable Republican team.
10. God’s use of imperfect vessels: Despite his flaws, Trump has demonstrated a willingness to stand against the establishment. 2 Timothy 2:21 reminds us, “If anyone cleanses himself… he will be a vessel for honor.” God can use anyone, even imperfect people, for His purposes. We’ve seen Trump welcome prayer at his rallies, embrace the name of Jesus, and show openness to Christian values in ways that stand in contrast to the secular agendas of the left.
A Call for Revival and Healing
The 2024 election represents a critical moment for America. We see two starkly different visions: one that embraces God, patriotism, and traditional values and one that pushes for globalism, moral relativism, and the erosion of national identity. Trump’s rallies often resemble Gospel gatherings, where prayer and the name of Jesus are welcomed. This is a marked contrast from Kamala Harris’s rallies, where faith is marginalized, and radical ideologies take center stage.
Our hope is that God will use this election to bring about a revival in America. Just as God can use flawed individuals and imperfect platforms, He can bring light through a challenging season. As Christians, we must be vigilant, pray, and advocate for truth. God is patient, but the time feels urgent as we await Christ’s return. May He grant us more time, more grace, and a season of healing and revival for America.
