TRUMP WON! How many times have we seen this message displayed by MAGA followers and now in 2024 it is a reality once again. This marks a new era of hope, possibilities for unity and a return to Judeo-Christian values international journalist, Al Gibson writes…
This victory is more than a political shift, it’s a new chapter for America. From restoring free speech to reestablishing the rule of law, the 2024 US Election result represents the voice of the silent majority and opens up endless possibilities for a better tomorrow.
The 2016 Election – looking back
As a journalist who has worked in media for many years, I have often felt frustrated over the past decade with the move away from freedom of speech to censorship and blatant disinformation, fake news and lies. Eight years ago, I remember staying up all night to watch Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump battle it out. I had a soft spot for Hillary stemming back to the time when her husband was President. I was quite captivated by the possibility of her becoming the first woman president.
However, while working for an international media network with many trips to the USA I realized my initial support was idle naivety. Nevertheless I remember watching the 2016 US Election in disbelief as Trump won. My son had just returned from a politics field trip to Washington DC where he bought a red MAGA cap. As he sat there wearing the cap it seemed like there was no chance of a Republican victory. Yet against all odds, that is what happened.
This represented a new area of possibility for the USA where much was accomplished despite President Trump being opposed on many sides. It was sad to see him coming up against ‘the System’ at every turn. We are all too aware of the relentless resistance he faced from media opposition to being impeached. Clearly there were powerful forces working against him.
The 2020 Election and its aftermath
There is no need to revisit the disaster of the 2020 Election which many considered to be stolen. Remember the hashtags that were trending like ‘stop the steal’ and ‘TRUMP WON’. This was of course followed by the January 6 debacle that soured things towards Trump and resulted in a second impeachment. However, I do want to share how depressed I was at the time, along with many others. This was because so many people in my circle were predicting that Trump would win a second term and that wasn’t the case until now!
Sadly over the course of the past four years of the Biden Administration we have witnessed the result of what many still consider to be an illegitimate president. There was the unmitigated disaster of the pullout of Afghanistan and wars in Ukraine and Israel. Plus the very real threat of World War 111. The world became such a hostile place coupled with a deep hatred against Trump which culminated in law fare and assassination attempts on his life.
The 2024 Election – vindicated victory and hope for unity
When it came to this election, I think everybody thought, “Oh no… it’s going to be just like 2020. The counting is going to go on forever.” I wondered how long it would take to get a clear result, thinking the results would be contested as before and a battle would ensue for weeks. However, that was not the case. And we now stand on the edge of what President Elect Trump has described as “a golden age for America”, and this brings with it the promise of wars ending and peace in the world.
So, I’m really pleased that Trump won. I’m delighted he has finally been vindicated and this will become more apparent in the days to come. Somebody said that this was ‘karma’. I don’t believe in karma. I do believe that there is a God and that He his hand on Trump’s life. That is the reason why Donald Tump is still living today and he certainly is the first to acknowledge that.
Of course there are many reasons Trump won which I won’t go into here… but I would like to share some observations as somebody writing from an international perspective:
Freedom of speech and the role of Elon Musk’s Twitter acquisition
Many have said that there is a globalist agenda against Trump because they can’t control him. Whether or not you agree that the last election was stolen through ‘faulty voting machines’, the Hunter Biden laptop story remains as a huge cover up. Had it not been hidden by the legacy media, the 2024 outcome could have been very different.
Hopefully this 2024 win will cast new light on all the question marks that still remain unanswered. I really think that the fact Trump won, represents hope for America. This time, however, the American people have been able to make their voices heard in a way that is undeniable. Hopefully, it’s going to bring unity. We’ve seen glimmers of that with former Democrat voters already coming alongside Donald Trump.
Even though we may not agree with Trump on everything, we can all appreciate basic principles of freedom of speech. We saw little glimpses of a political turnaround in recent years. one of these was the purchase of Twitter by Elon Musk. In 2020, we saw how they tried to silence the President of the United States. They even banned him from high-profile social media platforms. You can’t do that, but they did. Anyway, he started his own network but ultimately didn’t have to because Elon Musk took over Twitter and re-established it as X, the town hall platform where people can speak freely.
Elon paid a fortune for this privilege in an offer they simply couldn’t refuse. Their greed got the better of them! I think this was a key part of the turnaround to a Republican victory in 2024. Another factor was of course the assassination attempts. I think dodging a bullet gave Donald Trump a degree of favor with voters who started to see what he was up against. He also exemplified strength in his iconic response, “Fight, fight, fight!”
Breaking stereotypes: Trump and women in politics
Trump’s win is also noteworthy in that it challenges the stereotype that he is anti-woman, a claim often pushed by figures like Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris. Personally, I’d love to see a strong female president – someone like Nikki Haley would be fantastic. But for now, it’s clear that Trump’s message resonates with people from all walks of life including many women who are seeking a grounded, experienced leader.
JD Vance and the growing support for MAGA values
Another factor to Trump’s advantage was JD Vance coming alongside him as a younger man who really has caught the vision for the MAGA movement and will undoubtedly follow on in Trump’s footsteps. I think the fact that Trump won is a huge blessing to people of faith everywhere.
I’ve seen people tweeting God wins or God won and I really think this victory is good for Christians. It’s certainly good for the pro-life movement. I watched Trump’s Supreme Court picks being grilled, especially Justice Kavanaugh and how horrific the rhetoric was against him.
Yes, Trump managed to turn around Roe v. Wade and I think for me, women have a right to choose whether or not to have sex, but not to choose to take another’s life. I certainly have sympathy for women who have had an abortion. They can be forgiven like any other sin. God is gracious and loving. However, He does uphold the sanctity of life and so for many Christians, the Pro-life issue is not something they can compromise on.
I realise that Trump had to tone that down his stance on abortion during the 2024 Election and this was political wisdom. I think everybody knew that he had to do that, but I believe he is a man with a heart for life and for living, for the American people, to give them better lives.
Jesus said, “I’ve come to give you life and life more abundantly.” He doesn’t want us to be scraping by, where we don’t have food and every day is a battle because everything is so expensive. I just see the Trump win as a new lease on life for people economically as well as for the unborn who we need to be a voice for.
The silent majority finds Its voice
Finally, I am feeling really positive today and very happy that Trump won. This was an election where the silent majority rose up. They didn’t have the confidence to speak openly because they may have been ostracised in the legacy media but they knew what was right and when the day came, they made their decision and it’s now clear for all to see that this was the silent majority rising up. It gives me confidence to speak openly.
I don’t think Trump is perfect. Everyone knows his flaws. I wish that he was more of a diplomat. It would be better if he said things in a kinder way. I wish he was more respectful of people that he disagrees with. But sometimes it takes a bulldozer, a real pioneer to break new ground and that is what Trump does. He has as apostolic calling on his life and God has used him and God can use a donkey.
A moment of reprieve and the call to stand firm
The important thing now is that American believers need to stand up and use this momentum to re-establish the USA as a righteous, godly nation with Judeo-Christian morals where there are borders, illegal immigrants are prosecuted, and there is rule of law. Unfortunately he Biden-Harris administration was characterised by so much lawlessness. For example the riots in Minnesota, etc and their resistance to requiring ID documents to vote. Lawlessness is a sign of the Last Days and God has given us a stay of execution in America / a reprieve for the whole world so let’s not waste it.
In closing I must mention Lance Wallnau, the author of The Chaos Candidate. Lance is a proponent of the Seven Mountains of Influence. One of those is politics, along with media, entertainment, education, etc. I feel that we need to now take back the media mountain. We need to bring salt and light to the legacy media and challenge them to stop lying and tell the truth.
Yes they lied about Biden’s physical condition. In reality they were really unfair to an elderly gentleman who really was struggling. Furthermore the legacy media has consistently misrepresented Trump, painting a distorted image of his policies and intentions. Now, we have a unique opportunity to bring salt and light back to these mountains of influence by restoring justice and truth.
