If we learned anything from the Charlie Kirk memorial it was that Charlie was a unifier, not a disruptor as his critics made out. Sadly Charlie was martyred by a young man with very different views, the exact sort of person he was trying to reach. And reach them he did by the countless thousands.

Much has been shared in the world’s media, with varying coverage of the Charlie Kirk Memorial service. Viewers will have seen the Gospel message presented not once but in each of the many speeches, from Charlie’s colleagues at Turning Point USA (the organisation he started at 18 which has transformed America’s youth) to God-honouring messages from the Vice President, Tim Vance and the President of the United States, Donald Trump.
Time and time again speakers acknowledged how Charlie welcomed all people, lending them his massive microphone platform to share their views, so he could present an alternative point of view, with Biblical and philosophical insights, exhibiting astounding insight and accuracy. He showed us the path to truth and genuine joy and happiness.
Charlie Kirk brings people together
The Charlie Kirk Memorial started with praise and worship led by many different worship leaders, all coming together in unity, singing each other’s songs and culminating in ‘The Blessing’, the song that inspired so many versions of different artists and choirs during the uncertainty of the Pandemic, all united in hope and in song. Chris Thomlin, Phil Whikham, Brandon Lake, Kari Jobe and others demonstrated coming together to honor Jesus Christ, the central focus of the all-day revival service which turned out to be one of the biggest Sunday services ever.
Furthermore, there was a clear coming together of different denominations including Protestant and Catholic, recognizing the universal importance of salvation in Jesus Christ alone. Religious persecution of Christians does not discriminate between denominations. All Christians are open to the same threat no matter what doctrinal differences they may have.

Hope for the future from Erika Kirk
Charlie was fearless in his bold Christian witness despite the religious persecution that ultimately led to his assassination. Erika Kirk showed tremendous resolve as a grieving widow but also as an emerging Christian leader, stepping into a massive new leadership role as the CEO of Turning Point USA. “Charlie’s work was not yet complete,” she said, “But he left no unfinished business.” Pointing towards the mandate that is now upon her life, but also indicating that because of his deep faith in Jesus, Charlie was ready to meet his maker and how we must be ready too.
She also outlined the beautiful vision of family life that she and Charlie based their marriage and ministry on, detailing how young men should act, how they can become good husbands and fathers. She spoke of how young women should be virtuous and become good wives and mothers, modeling a society, that honors God, celebrates family and builds community. In doing so she set the mark for the continued Turning Point USA.
Significantly, Erika also struck a reconciliatory tone offering hope for the future. She tearfully shared how she had come to forgive Charlie’s alleged assassin Tyler Robinson. “because that is what Jesus teaches us to do,” and “that’s what Charlie would have done.”
Forgiveness is central to the Christian faith and this was a heart rending example of God at work to turn hatred around with love. And, in a side glimpse, it was good to see President Trump and Elon Musk shaking hands despite a much reported fall out. In life and death Charlie united people in small and big ways.
Watch the Charlie Kirk Memorial service
The untimely death of a great hero of the Christian faith has inspired millions of Charlie Kirks to step up and be counted for their faith. He has dismissed divisions and exemplified unity. The service was a call to move forward together, very different to the reaction the nation saw after the death of George Floyd by police which caused social revolution, burning cities and anarchy.
Watch the Charlie Kirk Memorial Service and hear the heartfelt outpouring of love, faith and hope for the future. Speakers shared how they thought it was impossible to influence young people for good, how they had all but given up on college campuses, but Charlie Kirk changed all that and in so doing, he impacted the outcome of an election, restoring Christian values to the nation.
It seems that there has never been a more Bible believing group of national leaders than in the current Trump Administration and this brings much hope not only to Americans but people all round the world. It’s not surprising then, that Turning Point has chapters in many different countries. With such a bold Christian witness it seems the Charlie Kirk Memorial service was a forerunner of the long awaited revival where America once again shines a bright light to the nations.
Many speakers identified that the memorial was a turning point in itself, acknowledging that “you can silence a man but you cannot silence a movement”… The service was broadcast, streamed LIVE to a global audience with a strong message of salvation in Jesus Christ alone which was shared far and wide. Thanks to Charlie, and now Erika Kirk the world has renewed hope. Jesus is the forever the hope of the world.
