Embracing Your Muchness: Unleashing the Audacious Boldness in Women

Women throughout history have encountered countless barriers, with their voices often stifled by societal norms and religious constructs. However, the gospel of Jesus Christ leads to the transformative power of women rising in their calling, embracing their God-given “muchness,” and confronting the shackles of religious and cultural systems. Don’t miss this episode of Revealing Jesus with Christina Perera as I sit down with prophetic leader, international speaker, and author Dr. Kim Maas. Kim shares biblical truths from her new book,  Finding Our Muchness: Inheriting Audacious Boldness from Women of the Bible. Discover the concept of “muchness” and how women are called to embrace their audacious boldness in fulfilling their purpose. I hope you find this episode an empowering call for women to rise up and embrace their unique calling in the body of Christ.

The Concept of “Muchness” and Women’s Divine Calling

“One of the most enlightening aspects discussed by Kim Maas is the concept of ‘muchness’ – a person’s innate, God-given potential and boldness. Derived from Hebrew scripture, ‘muchness’ is a divine empowerment urging individuals to embrace their full identities and rise to their divine callings.

Kim shares her transformative experience with the Holy Spirit, underscoring the journey from self-doubt to being a ‘wild woman for the Lord,’ emboldened to take risks for her faith.

This concept encourages women to rise above societal and inner limitations and reminds everyone, irrespective of their past or present circumstances, that everyone holds intrinsic value and purpose. This idea is connected to women’s diverse roles, from housewives to international speakers, advocating for celebrating all forms of calling, each pivotal in the tapestry of God’s kingdom. It is time we champion each other in our unique callings and passions, whether we are serving at home, in the marketplace, at church, or in the mission field.

“I had a radical, radical infilling of the Holy Spirit. And then…I have been a wild woman for the Lord ever since.” – Kim Maas

Breaking the Shackles: Gender Equality in the Church

In the beginning, God created man, both male and female, in the image of God. (Genesis 5:2) Each gender possesses intrinsic value and is created in the expressable beauty of God. I want to powerfully affirm that God’s call and empowerment are dispensed irrespective of gender, a point cemented by the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon men and women alike since biblical times. God Himself says in Joel, In the last days, I will pour out my spirit on both male and female.” (Joel 2:28 NKJV)

“And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions.” (Joel 2:28 NKJV)

Furthermore, when the church curtails women from fulfilling their callings, the entire body of Christ is diminished. Instead, a holistic understanding of the image of God, shown through both males and females, echoing the co-equality presented in the Genesis Creation, honors our creator. We must move from a hierarchy of gifts and roles to a collaborative and inclusive approach that unleashes every individual’s divine potential. Building the kingdom of God together using both males and females made in God’s image allows for the greatest expression of Christ.

“If people of the world are to see the true image of God, how are they going to see the true image of God if they don’t see both male and female?” – Christina Perera

Confrontation and Redemption of Personal and Systemic Limitations

The gospel is the most powerful redemptive act confronting shame and religious oppression – personal and systemic. Maas passionately recounts the story of the woman with the alabaster jar in the Bible, portraying a figure shrouded in shame by religious leaders yet being more aware of Jesus’s unconditional love and acceptance, breaks an expensive jar of perfume over Jesus’ feet, anointing Him in an act of extravagant worship.

“There was a certain creditor who had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. And when they had nothing with which to repay, he freely forgave them both. Tell Me, therefore, which of them will love him more?”

Simon answered and said, “I suppose the one whom he forgave more.”

And He said to him, “You have rightly judged.” Then He turned to the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has washed My feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head.  You gave Me no kiss, but this woman has not ceased to kiss My feet since the time I came in.  You did not anoint My head with oil, but this woman has anointed My feet with fragrant oil.  Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.” Luke 7 41-47 NKJV

This scripture passage serves as a beacon of hope for all women, encouraging the belief that their past can not only be forgiven but can become a powerful witness of God’s redemptive love. The ‘religious spirit’  binds and shames individuals, particularly women, but Jesus Himself advocates for a gospel that liberates and uplifts. Together, we must reject the lies of inadequacy and boldly step into our God-given callings.

“Jesus, he receives it. He received this woman, and he found it as precious. It’s precious.” – Kim Maas

Seeing the Fullness of the Image of God Requires Both Genders

Jesus desires women worldwide to reach their full potential, unhindered by societal or religious constraints. You can answer the pressing call to rise in your God-given “muchness,” confront and dismantle systems of oppression, and stand firm in your redemptive purpose.

The body of Christ is only whole when each male and female member operates in the fullness of their calling. Through this collective empowerment, the true image of God is revealed, and the gospel’s transformative power is unleashed upon the earth.

“Jesus is waiting to receive your song and listen. The most precious song that you can bring. Jesus is living your life in the fullness of the call that is on your life.” Kim Maas
