The Ark Encounter, featuring a 510-foot-long Noah’s Ark as its centerpiece, has been chosen as one of the best faith-based museums in the USA, along with its sister attraction, the Creation Museum.
The Ark Encounter received the most readers’ votes in a USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice poll.
The Ark’s sister attraction, the high-tech Creation Museum, finished in second place. Both attractions from Answers in Genesis AiG’s have made Northern Kentucky a leading faith-based destination.
The list of 18 nominated attractions was selected by a panel of top travel experts. USA Today’s newspaper subscribers and online readers were the asked to make their choice among these museums that represent diverse religious groups and faith communities.

The Ark Encounter
Built in 2016, according to the dimensions given in the Bible, the Ark in Williamstown, Kentucky, contains three decks of stunning exhibits. Outside the massive ship, families can find many more things to enjoy: Ararat Ridge Zoo, a Virtual Reality Experience, a 2,500-seat Answers Center that hosts daily family programs, and a huge state-of-the-art family playground.
The Ark Encounter welcomes well over one million guests annually. The Creation Museum in Petersburg, Kentucky (45 minutes away), sees more than 500,000 guests each year. The Creation Museum recently opened a large pro-life exhibit Fearfully and Wonderfully Made and is planning to create more dinosaur-related exhibits.
Ark Encounter also hosts one of the world’s largest Christian music festivals. 40 Days & 40 Nights of Christian Music will run at the Ark Encounter from August 1 through September 9, 2023. This year,150 music artists will be featured, playing a variety of music styles and several speakers.
